History

Initially, IFL was a company started in 1995 by North American Insurance Company, a Midwest based stop loss carrier, which owned 50% of IFL, along with two individuals, including Nigel D. Wallbank, Treasurer. North American Insurance Company was sold to Oxford Life Insurance Company in late 1997, and on January 20, 1998, North American sold its 50% IFL interest, and Robert R. Lehman, North American's former CEO, and Nigel Wallbank ultimately became equal 50% owners. Thus, IFL is the successor to and continuation of North American's 15 years of stop loss experience and the professional personnel. The directors and officers and key employees and consultants of IFL are listed below:

  • Robert R. Lehman: Shareholder, Chief Executive Officer & Director

  • Rachel Miller, Executive Vice President

  • Erin Raasch, Senior Underwriter

  • Sabrina York, Underwriter II / Webmaster

  • Nigel D. Wallbank: Shareholder, Treasurer

  • Paul Falcone, Director and Vice President (retired) of Towers Perrin Reinsurance

  • Jean Raspel, Claims Manager

  • Laura Flint, Vice President of Finance

  • Beth Schultz, Administration Manager

  • Robert Olson, MD, Medical Director and Practicing Physician, Internal Medicine

  • Robert H. Meyer, IS Consultant

Each of these key officers and individuals have diverse business experience and specialized insurance knowledge required for operating a successful MGU.
